English Language Summer Courses for Teenagers aged 14-17

Our English Language summer courses are designed for your age group with lessons that support, challenge and engage you.

Your English Language Course includes:

  • 18 hours tuition per week, with 3 hours on 5 mornings, 3 hours on 2 afternoon sessions

You will:

  •  activate your passive knowledge of English. You have studied grammar and structures at school in your own country – now learn to use them!
  •  improve your listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.
  •  develop the communication skills you will need for life in the 21st century.
  •  take part in role-plays and group discussions with your international classmates.
  •  use a course book with interesting topics and activities
  •  enjoy project work and workshops designed to help you communicate more effectively and improve your collaboration skills.

On an English course here you will develop your Global skills, critical thinking, personal confidence and English language fluency.

How do we make sure you start learning on your first day?

We will send you an online English Language test to take before you leave home. It tests your grammar, listening, writing, use of English and tells us your CEFR level.
We will organise your class group before you arrive. Your teachers will prepare your first lessons in advance so that you can start learning on your first day here. We don’t waste your first day at Isca testing you and putting you into classes!

Your teachers

We choose teachers who are enthusiastic and love teaching young people. Your class will have two teachers at different times each day. They plan your course together to meet the language needs of the group.

How do we make sure you are learning?

  •  Your teachers will correct your English and give you feedback during lessons.
  • You will have regular homework and a weekly progress test.
  •  In your first week, you will have a one-to-one tutorial with your main teacher who will give you advice about the language areas you need to work on.
  •  At the end of your course you will receive a leaving certificate with your course dates and your CEFR level.
  •  Your teachers will give you a personalised report with guidance on how to improve your English after you have left us.

At Isca, we want you to have a real learning experience that you will remember for life.

Outside the classroom, you will have a choice of many different activities and sports which will help you learn important life skills and have fun.
Each week you will have:

  • A half day excursion on Tuesdays and a full day excursion on Saturdays by bus or train
  •  Two sports/ activity afternoons with a choice of sports and cultural activities
  •  one evening activity each week
  • free time on Friday afternoon to visit Exeter city centre with friends

In your free time you will be able to practise your social English with your new friends and in your English home.

We want to congratulate for your efficient organisation. Our son Leonardo came back last Sunday very satisfied of his vacation in Exeter. The school was very helpful, he improved his English and he appreciated also all the activities in the spare time. The host family also was great!!! Thank you very much.

Dear Richard, I had Andrea on the phone and he is so happy to stay there! Every day is a great day for him and I feel that he will not forget this experience easily. Thank you for all you did for him, he is proud of himself and he shows a lot of interest in what he is doing at school. The family is great; he loves the food and their way of living. He spends a lot of time during the evening playing cards with the girls. Your school is for Andrea fantastic, he met nice guys and girls and the sports and outing are so well organised!!! Best regards
Mrs M, Italy
