Family-run English Language School:
The Isca School of English was opened in 1966 by the Tomlinson family in Exeter. This family-run British Council Accredited English Language School still offers the teenage students who travel from all over the world who join our English language Summer courses the same warm welcome.
What do we provide?
Improve your English at the Isca school of English with professional teachers, all while taking part in our social programme which included sports, activities and excursions. Principal
She is deeply invested in providing an exceptional learning experience for both students and staff, ensuring that every aspect of the school reflects the values her family instilled.
Outside of her role, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, cherishing the connections that have always been at the heart of the school’s success.
Javier Diez
Office Manager
Javier’s positive attitude and reliability make him an essential part of our team. He is married to Sarah Tomlinson, the Principal of the school, and together they share a deep commitment to the values that drive the school’s success.
Outside of work, Javier enjoys spending time with family and friends, cherishing the connections that are at the heart of his life.
Maxine Makings
Director of Studies
With years of experience in language teaching and a passion for student success, Maxine oversees the curriculum and works closely with the teaching team to ensure every lesson is engaging, effective, and aligned with the school’s high standards.
She is dedicated to fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment, helping both students and staff achieve their full potential.
Outside of work, Maxine enjoys travelling and learning, always seeking new experiences to enrich both her personal and professional life.
